4 Reasons Why Ayurveda Is Effective | Sandhi Sudha

Ayurveda is a healthcare system that has maintained its popularity among Indians for many centuries. But now thanks to people like Deepak Chopra, Oprah and other famous Hollywood stars like Gwyneth Paltrow, Britney Spears and, Kim Kardashian West, Ayurveda has taken its rightful place in the spotlight.

So why is Ayurveda still gaining popularity? The answer is simple. Because it’s easy, practical and the biggest reason of all - it works.

And if you’re wondering if Ayurveda is for you then let me assure you that Ayurveda is for everybody. It has no side effects and can be safely used by anyone. It’s like your grandmother. Just like your grandmother, it gives you useful advice based on years of experience and it always wants the best for you. Incorporating Ayurveda into your life is a surefire way to invite positive changes. Ayurveda has a lot to offer and here’s my quick and simple blog on Why Ayurveda Is Effective And Awesome.

4 Reasons Why Ayurveda Is Effective

 1. Ayurvedic medicines or remedies are gentle on your body and do not cause any side effects.

As is well known, ayurvedic medicines are safe to use and have no side effects. The herbs and plants used in Ayurveda are natural and contain no toxins or chemicals. Ayurveda is intended to be a long term cure that treats your body slowly and gently. If you use ayurvedic medicines as prescribed, then you would never encounter any side effects.

2. Ayurveda believes that each individual is inherently healthy

According to Ayurveda, being healthy is your natural state. Every individual needs to be in balance with their environment. When you’re unhealthy, it means that you and your environment are imbalanced. Ayurveda recognizes the cause of the imbalance and suggests personalized remedies.

3. Ayurveda gives a long-lasting cure for stress and pain.

Ayurveda treats stress or pain by using massage and heat treatments that subsequently relieve pain. Doing massage therapy with ayurvedic medicines like Sandhi Sudha has been proven to provide long-lasting benefits that promote good health and pain relief. It also promotes the physical well-being of an individual by balancing the harmony between the mind and the body. This helps in eliminating harmful toxins from the joints and other muscular parts and improves mobility.

4. It is individual-specific and heavily personalized according to a person’s constitution.

Ayurvedic treatments differ from the other cures in its unique approach towards healing. Ayurveda believes that every human body has a constitution of its own. This constitution is made up of a combination of three doshas namely Vata, Pitta and Kapha. How and in what quantity these three biological energies are present in the body determines your constitution. These doshas provide a unique blueprint for every individual. When these doshas are out of balance, you get ill. Ayurveda works by keeping these doshas in balance.

One of the most important treatments provided by Ayurveda is for joint pains. Nature contains many herbal remedies that are far more effective in treating joint pains than even allopathic medicines. Sandhi Sudha is an effective natural oil that provides quick relief from joint pains, swelling and stiffness. It promotes lubrication between the joints by increasing the amount of synovial fluid to enhance joint flexibility. It is an all-in-one solution for joint pains such as knee pain, back pain, wrist pain, elbow pain and shoulder pain. It works quickly and has no side effects at all. It helps you feel more calm and relaxed. It should be applied in the morning and evening for best results.

4 Exercises for Relief From Hip Pain | Sandhi Sudha

The two most important things that can help you get relief from joint pain are flexibility and strength training. These two things are very useful in treating hip pain. When we do stretches it helps to reduce stiffness in the muscles and improves joint mobility while doing strength training exercises toughens the hip joints and provides relief from the pain.

You may suffer from hip pain due to several reasons such as inflammation, muscle strain or arthritis. No matter what the reason may be, it is still both painful and frustrating. The following are some stretching and strength training exercises that can be added to your daily routine for those who suffer from hip pain.

1.     Knee lift

Lie down on the ground comfortably and extend both legs.

Keep your right leg straight and pull your left leg up towards your chest.

Now put both your hands on the left knee leg and pull as much as possible.

Stay in this position for 10 seconds before lowering your leg back to the floor.

Repeat the same using the other leg.

2.     Butterfly stretch

Sit down on the ground comfortably and keep your spine straight and your knees bent.

Move both your knees to the outer side, letting the soles of your legs meet at the center.

Hold the ankles of both the feet using your hands.

Engage your abs and bend your body forward slowly  towards your feet.

Stay like this for around 30 seconds to 1 minute before coming back to the normal position.

3.     Squat

Stand straight on the ground keeping your feet shoulder-width apart.

Bend your knees and drop your butt and do a squatting pose. Keep your knees in line with your toes and do not bend your hips below your knees.

Stay like this for 5-10 seconds before coming back to the starting position. Repeat for 10-20 reps.

4.     Pigeon pose

Go down to a push-up position, keeping your wrists under your shoulders, legs extended and toes tucked inside.

Folding your left knee, bring it in forward and place it behind your left wrist and your ankle near your right hip.

Keep your right leg straight behind you and lower your upper body so that you can bring it close to the left leg. Keep your spine neutral and look straight.

Stay like this for 10 seconds before repeating the same with the other leg.

After you’re done with your exercises, don’t forget to massage your hips with an ayurvedic oil. Hip pain occurs as a result of stiffness in the muscles on your hips. A good massage promotes movement in these muscles which reduces the stiffness and in turn the pain. The best ayurvedic massage oil for hip pain is Sandhi Sudha. Make sure you massage your hips with Sandhi Sudha. Just take some Sandhi Sudha oil in your palm and apply it all over your hips and gently massage over the area with little pressure. Use gentle circular motions. Ask someone for help if possible. Sandhi Sudha will penetrate the stiff muscles and relieve the knots from the inside. This will give immediate relief from pain.

6 Brilliant Life Hacks for Joint Pain | Sandhi Sudha

If you suffer from joint pains regularly then these brilliant life hacks can really change your life. Keep reading!

1.     Drink ginger tea

According to many studies, ginger can mimic NSAIDs which are the front-line medicines used for arthritis pain relief. It works by restricting pain-causing chemicals that are part of the body’s inflammatory response—without causing any side effects of medications. Use powdered, raw, or lightly cooked fresh ginger in your food. You can make your own ginger tea at home by simmering slices of ginger for 15 minutes in a few cups of boiling water, or you can buy ginger tea bags from the shop.

2.     Eat inflammation-fighting foods

Throw away the fast food, junk food, fried food, and processed food if you want to get relief from joint pain. According to a recent study of rheumatoid arthritis (RA) patients who switched to a Mediterranean-style–eating plan (fresh fruits, veggies, whole grains, fish, olive oil, nuts, garlic, onions, and herbs) suffered from less inflammation and also got back some physical abilities as a result.

3.     Breath in fragrant spices

According to studies, good aromas such as lavender can change your perception of pain. A research conducted in Japan found that lavender lowers levels of the stress hormone cortisol, which makes you feel relaxed and less aware of pain. But it’s not just lavender that works as a natural home remedy for arthritis pain relief. Korean researchers concluded that arthritis patients suffered from less pain and were less depressed when they could smell pleasant aromas of a variety of kitchen spices, such as marjoram, rosemary, and peppermint. If you want to sooth your pain with some aromatherapy treatment, add a teaspoon of one of these dried herbs to ¼ cup of olive, coconut, or vegetable oil. Keep this near you. You can also buy pleasant smelling oils or incense from the store.

4.     Wash dishes by hand

It sounds odd, but doing this simple kitchen task can soothe hands suffering from arthritis pain. When you dip your hands in hot water, it can help in relaxing the muscles and joints and relieving stiffness. Then, the exercise of gripping and spongeing keeps your hands and fingers moving, which is also very important for joint pain relief.

5.     Sip 4 cups of green tea a day

Green tea is very beneficial for people suffering from arthritis. Green tea’s polyphenol antioxidants are anti-inflammatory, which improves arthritis-related immune responses, and significantly reduces cartilage damage.

6.     Massage

The best life hack for joint pain is a daily massage with an ayurvedic oil. Sandhi Sudha is an amazing joint pain relief oil that brings relief from all kinds of joint and muscle pain. Sandhi Sudha oil penetrates deep into the muscles and joints and boosts up the blood circulation in the area. It then increases the synovial fluid and thus promotes lubrication and enhances joint flexibility. With regular application it treats the pain completely. You can also get Sandhi Sudha Capsules if you want to avoid the regular massage.

4 Easy Hip Exercises for Older People | Sandhi Sudha

As people grow older, they experience hip pains because of the weakness of the hip muscles. This is why it is very important for older people to learn how to strengthen their hips with hip-strengthening exercises to prevent or reduce severe pain. If you have elders at home, encourage them to do the following exercises.

Standing Hip Flexor

Stand upright with your feet together near a chair, wall, or another surface you can use to balance. Now, take a deep breath in, and lift your left leg off the floor bringing your knee toward your chest as far as is comfortable for you. Hold your leg in this position for 5 seconds before slowly and carefully lowering your leg back down again. Do the same with your other leg. Repeat this exercise 10 times for each leg.

If you want to increase the difficulty, you can wear ankle weights. You can work your way up to heavier weights as you get used to the exercise.

Hip Marches

This seated exercise is great for people who want to improve their hip flexibility and increase leg and hip strength. All you need is a chair.

Sit in a strong, stable chair without any arms. Put your feet flat on the ground and straighten your back with your hands resting lightly on your knees or legs. Now, take a deep breath and lift your left knee up as far as you can without straining it. Keep your knee in the bent position. After 5 seconds, put your foot back down flat on the floor. Breathe out while lowering your leg. Do the same on the other side.

Repeat 10 times on each leg.

Hip Extensions

Stand straight keeping your feet shoulder-width apart. Rest your hands lightly on either side of a chair. Keeping your left leg straight and your left foot on the ground, slowly start lifting up your right leg out behind you. Keep your right leg straight as well while lifting it. Do not bend your knees. Lift your right leg only as far as you can, and then stay in this position for 5 seconds. Lower your left leg slowly down to the ground, and repeat using the right leg. Repeat 5-10 times on each leg.

Chair Sit-to-Stand

Stand up and face away from a chair, positioned as you would be if you were about to sit down. Choose a chair with back support to prevent you from falling backward if you lose your balance. Bend your knees slowly and start to sit down. Lean your chest forward but make sure you keep your torso straight. When your buttocks touch the chair, immediately start to stand back up again. Do this slowly if you want. Do this exercise 10 more times.

After you’re done with your exercises, regular ayurvedic massages are very beneficial for loosening your tight muscles, getting your blood flowing, and calming your mind. According to a recent study, massages significantly help in reducing pain in people suffering from osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis. Massaging with Sandhi Sudha Ayurvedic Oil is the best treatment for joint pain. It contains many beneficial ayurvedic herbs such as Shallaki, Akarkara, Nirgundi, Haldi, Giloy and many more. These ingredients are combined together in such a way that their potency increases tenfold. Massaging with SandhiSudha gives immediate relief from joint pain.

4 Simple Exercises to Relieve Tennis Elbow Pain | Sandhi Sudha

Tennis elbow occurs as a result of irritation and inflammation of the tendons on the outside of your elbow. If it is diagnosed early enough, it can often be treated at home with some rest, ice, pain relievers, and some elbow exercises. Exercise for tennis elbow treatment focuses on your wrist and fingers, which gently stretches the muscles and tendons in your forearm and elbow. Slowly increasing the strength of the forearm muscles takes the pressure off the tendons attached at the elbow and  allows them to heal.

You can easily do these exercises at home, but it’s still a good idea to consult with a physical therapist for the exercises best suited for you to ensure you are doing them correctly.

1. Wrist Flexion

To do this exercise, hold your arm straight out in front of you. Now bend your hand down at the wrist, fingers toward the floor and your palm facing your body. Using your other hand, gently push your fingers towards your body. Stay in this position for about 15 seconds before releasing. Repeat on the other arm. Do this 5 times a few times a day.

2. Ball Squeeze

You would need a ball, like a tennis ball for this exercise. You can also use a rolled-up sock or even a stress ball to achieve the same effect. Hold the ball in your hand and squeeze tightly. Do not put pressure to the point of pain. Stay in this position for up to 10 seconds before releasing. Do this 8 to 10 times a few times a day.

3. Finger Stretch

Cup your fingers as if you’re holding an egg in your hand. Wrap an elastic band around the tips of your fingers and your thumb. Now open and close your fingers, using your finger strength to push against the elastic as you spread your fingers and bring it back. Do this 10 times, rest a minute, then do two more sets. You can repeat this exercise a couple of times a day.

4. Elbow Curl

Place the middle of an exercise band under your foot, which should be placed in front of you so that you’re standing with one foot in front of the other. Hold the handle or the end of the band securely in your hand with your arm at your side. Pull the band gently upward, bending only at the elbow. Keep your upper arm close to your body. Pull the handle up to your shoulder and hold in place for a few seconds. Lower your arm gently. Now switch to the other arm. Do this 10 times, rest a minute, and then repeat for two more sets.

After you’re done with your stretches, make sure to massage your elbows with an ayurvedic oil to relax the muscles and improve circulation. Sandhi Sudha ayurvedic joint pain relieving oil is the perfect oil to treat all kinds of joint pain including tennis elbow pain. It reduces inflammation in the joints and promotes good blood circulation to treat pain all over the body including the arms and the elbows. Sandhi Sudha Oil has been created using carefully selected ayurvedic herbs as recommended by the best ayurvedic experts from around the world.
